A special commencement site for University of Michigan art school graduates in the early days of the pandemic

COVID-19 pandemic hit the country hard in March of 2020. With communities and Universities in an unexpected lockdown mere weeks before graduation, schools and colleges were struggling to create a meaningful experience for their graduating students, and in the case of STAMPS School of Art & Design, even showcase student work. Time was tight, and funding restricted – something needed to be done quickly and cost-effectively.
Boxcar worked with the STAMPS marketing and IT team to quickly create a fun, celebratory standalone site to host commencement videos, addresses, Instagram posts, and a landing page for each graduating student to showcase their work.
It was a tough year for University students, but the site was well received – so much so, that it is being duplicated and refreshed for the 2021 graduating class. We are very proud to have helped in this concrete way during a difficult time.
