Boxcar Studio and the Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum have nurtured a long-standing relationship. With two former garden-alums, Boxcar continues to support MBGNA and the Peony Garden website through their website maintenance and development.
In the most recent iteration of the Peony Garden’s website, Boxcar worked to modernize the site, migrating it from the Drupal content management system into WordPress for ease of editing. Additionally, we sought to integrate the Peony Gardens walking maps and visit guides in a dynamic fashion to improve users ability to search through the various peony varieties during their visit. The overall experience for the Peony Garden’s website has allowed it to become a mobile tool for visitors to the gardens as well as a resource for planning and post-visit explorations.
